ROBERT AVARD | Manager of Community Services

Rob has extensive experience in management in the not-for-profit sector. Currently, Manager of Community Services at the City of Cockburn, Rob is the Inaugural Chairperson of the Cockburn Integrated Health Ltd and has been a Board member of a range of youth, accommodation and migrant services organisations. Rob is committed to the provision of services to the socially disadvantaged in the community.
STUART DOWNING | Finance Director
CPA, Bachelor of Business (Acct), MBA (HR&IT UWA), Post Grad Dip Company Secretarial Practice
Stuart is currently Finance Director for the City of Cockburn and has been for the last five years, with 11 years in Local Government and 15 years in the private sector in senior management with large media companies in Perth and Sydney. Stuart is also the Treasurer for the South Perth Hospital, a position he has occupied for six years.
CHRISTA RIEGLER | Fremantle Medicare Local CEO
Christa is currently the CEO of Fremantle Medicare Local. She is interested in the health needs of the community, across the whole spectrum, from health prevention through to appropriate acute treatment models. Service provision to disadvantaged groups and individuals is also an interest area. Christa has been involved in working on this existing project with the City of Cockburn for many years.
Christa has an undergraduate degree in Youth Work and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Population Health. She is also currently completing the assessment requirements to become a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR SUE JONES | Curtin Dean of Teaching and Learning
Sue is the Dean of Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. She has led a university wide curriculum reform project and is responsible for ensuring interprofessional education and Indigenous perspectives are embedded within health sciences curricula and led the development and implementation of the Faculty’s Interprofessional First Year which commenced in 2011. Sue was a Fieldwork Coordinator in the School of Physiotherapy for 15 years where she enjoyed her time enormously teaching in all years of the undergraduate program and working with students as they emerged as physiotherapists. Sue has several Australian Learning and Teaching Council leadership grants which focus on developing academic leadership capabilities in a range of staff. Previous membership of Boards includes Board of Directors of the Australian Physiotherapy Association for 4 years and Intework for 3 years.
DR FIONA COOMBES | Curtin University Health Service Medical Director
Fiona is a local graduate and has more than 20 years’ experience as a GP. She has a special interest in the integration of primary health care and holds Master’s Degrees in Family Medicine and Health Service Management. Fiona is currently the Medical Director of Curtin University Health Service.
HON MICHAEL BOARD JP | Group Manager Youth Services for St John of God Healthcare
Mike is currently the Group Manager Youth Services for St John of God Healthcare. This position requires the development and administration of all of their Youth services throughout Australia. Mike retired from the Western Australian Parliament in 2005 after twelve years; five as a Minister in various portfolios including Youth, The Arts, Citizenship and Multicultural Interests, Employment and Training, and Works and Services. Mike was also Shadow Minister for Health for four years. Mike was the member for Murdoch. Mike has also served in local government as Deputy Mayor of Melville. Mike sits on a number of Boards both in the Public and Private sectors. Mike’s history includes a Naval Officer, a Public Servant and owning/managing a clothing manufacturing business.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER | Clory Carrello
Clory Carrello was appointed CEO of Cockburn Integrated Health in November 2011. Clory is responsible for overseeing the service development at Cockburn Integrated Health and to ensure that this is responsive to community needs while also complimenting other service provision in the region.
Clory has almost 30 years’ experience in the health service industry, working in both clinical and administrative roles. He has over 15 years’ experience in program management and service development and has worked across the continuum of care from chronic disease prevention to palliative care. He also has significant experiencein Aboriginal Health and working with the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse population.
Clory has undergraduate qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science and post graduate qualifications in Business Administration.
